Warranty FAQs
Does commercial window tinting void my windows’ warranty?
Window tinting will void your window’s manufacture warranty (if one is still in place). However, if your windows meet the warranty criteria, you will receive a glass breakage & seal failure warranty from the window tinting manufactures (lengths described above).
Will window tinting cause my windows to break?
Window tint can cause what is called “Thermal Breakage”. Thermal breakage is the cracking of a window as a result of excessive heat buildup between double paned glass. Window film increases the risk of thermal breakage because it traps addition heat on the surface of the glass. However, this is a very rare occurrence even for tinted windows; 1/2 of 1% of all filmed windows break. SunGlo goes to great lengths to exclusively offer products with a lower “Solar Energy Absorption Rate” to decrease this risk even further. Finally, if in the rare event this does happen, you are covered at no cost to you with your window film warranty.
What types of windows are not covered by these warranties?
Skylights & wired glass windows are not covered under window film warranties. Additionally, if you have a unique glass type, it will be reviewed in the consultation process to confirm that it qualifies for a warranty.
When will I receive my warranty paperwork?
At the final walk through of your installation you will receive the warranty documentation & instructions on how to complete the warranty with the window tint manufacture. You must keep a copy of the warranty information & proof of purchase in order for the warranty to be valid.
What if the window tint I am interested in is not listed above?
Some unique, specialized products that SunGlo offers are not listed above. Please call (303)279-5884 & ask a SunGlo Consultant about the warranty details of a specialized product you are interested in.
